You don’t have to join the program
Make sure the “Bambu Lab P1P” Printer with the 0.4 Nozzle is selected and click “Next”. You don’t have to worry about unselecting everything else.
Filament selection page doesn’t matter too much, these are just the options that will show up on the slicer in the future so you could just leave the default and click “Next”. If you want to clear your screen a bit just have the following selected:
Have this box check and click “Finish”
Click “Login/Register” in the upper left and login with Google using nershipping@gmail.com and Racecar202 for the password
You should now see the “NER 3D Printing” user profile in the top left corner
Bambu Printing Instructions
Save Solidworks part as a .step file, Bambu prefers .step over .stl because it provides them with more information on curved part areas but both file types work.
Open Bambu Slicer, Login with NER account credentials, and click “Upload” in the upper right.
This will open a browser window for you to drop files into. Select “I have STL/CAD files or other types of 3MF files” to open the files upload box.
If it’s your first time printing, please click “New Folder” and rename the folder with your name or project, whatever you want just something so that we can keep everything organized and there aren’t random floating files!! 🙏
Click the “Browse” button within the folder window to open up your file explorer and select your .step file.
You can also add a note here if you want.
Click “Next Step” and begin filling out the publishing page. It’s kind of annoying but Bambu does it this way idk why.
For “Model Cover,” just upload a quick screenshot of the part on Solidworks.
Make “Model Name” the same as your .step file or you Solidworks part and “Category” whatever you want. Select “No” on all the licensing stuff because we are already not getting paid for our work here we don’t need to do that to ourselves twice.
Generally best to keep our designs private. Put something simple in the description box and select “No” for BOM or else it will ask you to fill out more stuff.
Hit “Publish” and it will take you back to the top and have you select the model draft.
Hit “Publish” again and you should be taken to this web page.
Go back to Bambu Studio and open the “Prepare” page.
Click the box icon to open file explorer and add your part.
Open your part and select it on the build plate. Click on the two circled icons to position it properly.
Use the left side of the screen to select your filament, the color only really matters if you are using more than one at a time. The plate should be the “Textured PEI Plate” or whatever is on the printer and the “Bambu Lab P1P 0.4 nozzle” should be selected. You can mess with the layer settings a bit if you need your part to print faster or be stronger but I would recommend asking someone who’s printed before if this is your first time.
Select “Slice Plate” and see this come up with a time estimate.
BEFORE PRINTING, ensure that the filament and build plate match what you have in your settings!!! Carelessness is how printers break!!!!!!!!!!!! If the nozzle has been changed adjust that accordingly but we only have a 0.4 nozzle for the Bambu right now so that should be fine.
