Altium Designer (ECAD) and Altium 365 (PLM) is used for all NER PCBs!

The Onboarding Process

Get Access

  1. Slack Walter Stadolnik

  2. You’ll receive an email from Altium once you’ve been added

  3. Follow the directions in the email/use the Altium Designer installer

  4. You’re good to go!

VLAB Access

For those on MacOS or just with weaker computers, VLAB may be for you!

 How to Altium on VLAB
  1. Log into the VLAB: https://coe.northeastern.edu/ecc/VLABHowTo.pdf

    1. Only for COE students; uses COE credentials, not NU

  2. Open Altium Designer from the Start menu

  3. Log in!

Yep, it’s that simple! Your access to licenses and the vault will load as soon as you’ve logged in. Once connected, Altium should behave entirely normally.

The following is Altium’s official documentation. Navigation is via the bar on the left. I find this to be very unorganized, but when you find the right pages, the information is 100% complete. Great for any questions you have that you want the full answer for: https://www.altium.com/documentation/altium-designer

I definitely recommend navigating the official documentation by just using Google. It is much better than navigating their sidebar.
