ℹ️ Purpose
Confluence is a wiki-style, page-based documentation platform utilized by many FSAE teams and companies. Key benefits that resulted in our choice of Confluence are its ease of use, rich feature set, and generally its proposition to improve hand-off of information among engineering as well as administration.
This generally will be utilized to replace Google Docs guides and Google Slides slide decks. This will not replace things such as design review presentations and review documents.
Confluence Layout
Root level pages will consist of a broad topic, and then become more focused as pages go deeper.
For vehicles, the top level page will be the numerical car name (NER17) and the first level of subpages will comprise of the systems making up the vehicle (tractive, drivetrain, etc). Within systems it is typical to have project pages, but this may vary as needed.
Other types of pages will be named however makes sense.
