Design/Research Review Info

A research/design review must be conducted before any research/design work package is stage gated. Here is some info to help you make those happen!

Design Review Attendance Requirements

  • Heads: All reviews in your system, 5 outside of your system

  • Leads: All reviews in your system, 3 outside of your system

  • Members: All reviews in your system

  • We don’t take attendance; you must ask at least 1 question in the questions doc so we can use it as our attendance sheet

Setting Up a Review

  • Schedule for AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE your WP deadline

  • Send a message in your team’s public channel saying what the review is for, proposing a couple of dates, and tagging required attendees

    • Required attendees: head, chief, leads of projects that work closely with your project, project team members

  • In thread, pick a time (can use a when2meet or just keep throwing out times until something works for everyone)

  • Tag Asha (VP) in thread to add to the team calendar; let her know if you would like to book a room

  • Announce (@channel) in system channel and mechanical/electrical

  • Make sure all deliverables are checked off on Finishline

Right Before the Review

  • Send a reminder 15 minutes before including a Zoom link and question doc link

    • Template for questions is in drive

After the Review

  • Create a Confluence subpage under your project called “Design Review (*date*)

    • Or research review etc

  • Copy and paste the link to the slides or confluence page you presented at the review

    Click the link then click the 4th icon from the left (with the lil mountain) so the questions can be seen on the Confluence page
  • Do the same with the questions doc

  • Add a list of action items from the review with check boxes

Click the first icon from the left at the top of the screen so you can check the action items off as they’re completed
  • Complete all those action items, mark them off on Confluence, and submit a stage gate request!
