Welding

Please consult with chief or head to schedule weld training

• Weld training should be done by the principal welder at the time

• Welders must pass weld tests in order to contribute the the welding of the chassis and harness structures

• Tab welding and component welding should have either a weld test passed welder or the principal welder can supervise a novice depending on the part (up to the project lead and principle welder)

• In general being able to pass a weld test for TIG, welders should have trained around 75-100 hours of weld time

• Aluminum welding requires additional time of around 50 hours of dedicated practice outside of the 100 dedicated to steel
